Introduction
Ujjain, located in the state of Madhya Pradesh, is one of the most ancient and sacred cities in India. It is known for its rich history, religious significance, and its association with Hindu mythology. Ujjain is one of the four locations where the famous Kumbh Mela is held every 12 years, attracting millions of pilgrims from across the world.
Ujjain is home to one of the 12 Jyotirlingas, the Mahakaleshwar Temple, which is dedicated to Lord Shiva. The city is steeped in history and cultural heritage, having been a major center of learning and spirituality throughout ancient India. Ujjain has been mentioned in numerous ancient texts, including the Mahabharata and Rig Veda, and it continues to be a major pilgrimage destination for Hindus.
