Haridwar
Haridwar
Introduction
Haridwar, meaning the “Gateway to God”, is one of the holiest cities in India and a major pilgrimage site for Hindus. Situated in the Uttarakhand state, along the banks of the sacred Ganges River, Haridwar is a center for spirituality, yoga, and religious rituals. It is one of the seven Sapta Puri (most sacred cities in Hinduism) and is a major venue for the Kumbh Mela, one of the largest religious gatherings in the world.
Devotees visit Haridwar to take a holy dip in the Ganges, which is believed to cleanse sins and lead to moksha (liberation). The city is also home to ancient temples, ashrams, and spiritual centers, making it a popular destination for seekers of peace and enlightenment.
